A Letter From Danny & The Leadership Team

Dear Autistics United Family and Friends,

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy through these challenging times. Last month’s social gathering and support groups were fantastic. Everyone showed great social distancing and wearing their masks appropriately. It felt so good that we were able to have that much fun and be able to support each other during these times when COVID-19 is still very relevant. We showed a little creativity and we were still able to hold groups!

In Phase 2, Safer At Home, gatherings of more than 10 people in a single indoor space remains prohibited. In outdoor spaces, gatherings of more than 25 people are prohibited. This is outlined in Executive Order 151. Masks are also required.

We have been delaying having groups in person because the Asheville area had a little spike in COVID-19 cases, and we wanted to see if we were going to move into phase 3 or not. We also have not met on ZOOM because of computer issues, but I will be getting a new computer soon.

We will be a little more strict with mask-wearing due to the new mask mandate executive order. Please bring your own mask and hand sanitizer. We may have extra masks or hand sanitizer, but it is better to be prepared with your own.

Thank you all from Danny, Executive Director, and the Leadership Team!
